If you are like me, you've probably wondered just what happened to the traditional family in the past 50 years. With all the changes brought on by feminism and the blurring of the roles of the man and woman that began in the 60's, the church has struggled to define a solid, practical model of the modern american family that adheres to the biblical teachings.
That's why we've invited Andreas Kostenberger, author of several books on the family, including God, Marriage & Family, to be our guest teacher at The Christian Community special Monday Family Focus this summer. Kostenberger, Senior Research Professor of New Testament and Biblical Theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, will be leading informal discussions that will help strengthen your understanding of God's purpose for the marriage and give needed, practical insights to provide your family with a strong biblical foundation.
It really doesn't matter who your are: young or old, married or unmarried, the scriptural principles that Kostenberger teaches are foundational for anyone wanting a successful marriage. It is also an excellent opportunity for homeschool parents who would like to teach their children these oftimes forgotten basics that are key to Christian family life. Regardless of who will benefit most, your whole family is welcome to attend.
